Guidelines for Programme Advertising

A glossy full colour programme is being produced for the event. The 50 plus page programme will contain full details of the event; overview of the day, tournament rules, profiles of key sponsors, full team information and player listing, site map, catering details as well as a full advertising listing of sponsors.

The size of the advertisement in the programme, which is applicable to your sponsorship package, is detailed in your sponsorship confirmation document. Set out below are the technical requirements for the composition of the advertisement.

If you have either your own in-house design studio or have a contract with an external company we are delighted to receive “finished” artwork. Detailed below is a list of the formats and different file types in which we are able to receive and process the information.

However if you do not have contact with a design studio we have an agreement with a company specialising in the work who have agreed a blanket corporate rate for sponsors of the Charity 7s event. The cost for the composition, layout and production of camera ready finished artwork will be £125 for a full page and £75 for a half page advert.

The process by which you can select an advert style, font and greeting or message is detailed below. If you do not have a specific preference for a particular advertising style and simply want to support the event, then just send us the required text, contact details in a word file and we will sort everything out for you.

The section below contains  a series of examples of both full and half page advertisements with different styles, backgrounds, fonts and messages, all of which can be adopted to suit your own corporate approach. Each advertisement is numbered for ease of reference.

Technical data/information for supplied artwork

Page size to be A5 (148.5mm x 210mm), therefore advert sizes:

Full page:

148.5mm x 210mm (154.5mm x 216mm inc. bleed)

To have an additional 3mm all the way round (bleed) to ensure when trimmed any part of the design that runs to the edge of the page actually does so and you don't get unsightly white edges if the trimming is slightly off. We also suggest any text on the advert is a minimum of 5mm from any edge.

Half page: 

128.5mm x 90mm

This will leave a 10mm gap around any advert which will make it sit well on the page.

Format for accepting files:

Ideally JPEGS or TIFF files (300dpi at correct size)

We can also accept Illustrator, Photoshop and EPS files, with the text "converted to outlines". Please save any Photoshop/Illustrator/EPS files in version CS2 or earlier.

Any image element must be at lest 300dpi at the output size
