Two Competitions will be taking place on the day – a full Contact Sevens Competition and a Mixed Touch Rugby Competition. With teams representing their companies and competing to see who will be crowned the top corporate team in 2009 in their selected format, the action is sure to be fast-paced and compulsive viewing.

Gates open at 9.15am for spectators and those companies wishing to avail themselves of the breakfast hospitality option. Team registration for both Competitions will be between 9.30am and 10.15am with play commencing in both Competitions at 10.30am across all seven pitches – ensuring plenty of live action, wherever you might be throughout the day. FORMAT OF THE COMPETITIONS

Teams in both Competitions will play the first stage in a league format, where all the teams will play each other once. Both the Contact and Mixed Touch Competitions are limited to a maximum of up to 24 teams. There will be four leagues with up to a maximum of six teams in each league, ensuring each team will play a minimum number of games - five games if there is a full complement of teams.

The composition of each league will be drawn by lot by the Tournament Director in advance of the event. There will be no seeding process but if a company enters more than one team, they will not be placed in the same league.

Only one team, the winners of each league can progress through to the second stage. There is no “Plate” play-off event in either competition. Winner takes all.

The same format applies to both Competitions. The winners of League A will play the winners of League C in one semi-final and the winners of League B will play the winners of League D.

In the Contact Competition the two winning semi-finalists will then compete for the prestigious Trafigura Cup and the two losing semi-finalists for the Trafigura Bowl.

In the Mixed Touch Competition the two winning semi-finalists will then compete for the Inaugural Trafigura Shield and the two losing semi-finalists for the Trafigura Vase.

The League stages for both Competitions will finish at 3.00pm.

All semi-finals for both the Mixed Touch and Contact Competition will be start at 3.30pm with the final of the Trafigura Vase at 5.00pm. The final of the Trafigura Bowl at 5.30pm. The Trafigura Shield at 5.45pm and the grand final – the Trafigura Cup at 6.00pm.
